Greening Buildings one Building at a Time

Engineer your own onsite power generation - be sustainable.

Why would a business want to generate its own power?

Energy is the horsepower that drives the data center, as it becomes scarcer and as its cost increases, more businesses will consider the feasibility of generating their own power. SMB are in the wheel house to tap into this technology today. The decision to look to distributed power generation on premise is quickly becoming a feasible option. The data center requires reliable, high-quality power many installations are mission-critical.

Purchasing power from a utility is simpler in some ways but it has many drawbacks: the need for UPS and other systems to “clean up” the power produced by utilities, backup diesel generators require onsite storage of thousands of gallons for fuel and when operationable they are loud and unsightly. Power spikes and other power events can cause service outages and equipment damage within the data center and the broader power grid is unable to mitigate all such events.

The technology available today has us in a position to start deploying fuel cells, wind or solar to take advantage of the available energy that is around us everyday and convert it into productive use. The fuel cell is the mainstay a consistent power source driven off of natural gas the cleanest most abundant fossil fuel. Wind a power source that exists in some locations more than others but the fact is the wind will blow usually every day and when it blows energy can be created and we should deploy a way to capture that power source. Solar is a reliable power source of energy that can produce energy during the daylight.

Configuring a hybrid solution with the technology we have can generate power that will reduce the dependence of the local electric grid and the production of fossil fuels that destroy our planet. Your company can become independent, self-reliant and sustainable today.
